Developer 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft Studios continue to update the Halo 5 Guardians multiplayer beta for the Xbox One just a few days after its launch. The developer has announced that it will add a new Breakout game mode to the beta, along with some other content.
Breakout is a round-based mode, where your Spartan has only one life per round. The first team to take five rounds wins the match. You’ll be able to play on two maps: Crossfire and Trench.
There will also be two new maps swapped into the Slayer playlist: Regret and Eden. Regret is a remix of Truth, while Eden is a remix of Empire, both of which were included in week one of the beta. Additionally, based on player feedback, 343 Industries has added the ability to wield the Hydra MLRS, a brand-new weapon to the Halo universe, while slaying on Regret.
The Halo 5 beta should (if 343 Industries’ scheduling holds true) end on January 18th.
