Xbox One energy-saving mode comes to setup

Anyone who buys a new Xbox One will get prompted by a new screen during its first boot-up: A choice between “instant-on” and “energy-saving” power modes. In the US, instant-on is the default, which enables updates and content downloads to happen in the background while it’s not in use, and lets users yell “Xbox, On” to turn their Xbox Ones on.

Existing Xbox One owners can make the power switch themselves by going to “Power & startup” under Settings.
