Twitch has launched a pop-out player window for its Android app. Once popped, you can adjust the size at will and when you’re done, you can go back to the app to find the next broadcast to watch. That means that you can effectively watch someone play Hearthstone while playing a game of it yourself, according to the Twitch blog.
The San Francisco-based game streaming company also added more transcode servers to give broadcasters more flexibility for their shows, and give viewers the chance to choose the video quality that their connection can handle best. The plan is to make sure that every one of its Partner streamers can use that option, according to Twitch. Since it over-allotted the necessary hardware on its end, the company is providing the transcode option to the “most popular” non-Partners. This brings the viewership numbers necessary to gain access to the feature to an all-time low, according to the company, but as the number of Partners and the service itself grows, that number is going to increase.
