Smite is hitting the PlayStation 4 this year. The game is currently in a closed alpha on the Sony platform for a small number of “dedicated” players, according to Hi-Rez Studios president Stew Chisam.
The closed beta goes live in March; those interested can opt-in here.
The third-person “multiplayer online battle arena” game involves teams of characters fighting across a single map shown from a behind-the-shoulder perspective.
Smite is free, with PS4 players not needing a PlayStation Plus account to play. If you want to play the game next month on PS4, you can spend $30 on the Founder’s Pack that goes on sale alongside March’s closed beta. The pack includes a key for instant beta access, two skins, 400 Gems, and unlocks all present and future characters. The pack will be discontinued shortly after the game’s full release.
