Halo 5: Guardians’ Hog Wild update will launch on Tuesday, May 31, according to developer 343 Industries. It will be the second free expansion for the game this month, following Memories of Reach.
Hog Wild includes new Warthogs, additional armor sets, and a hybrid weapon scope.
The update previously was set to include “bigger items,” but they will be saved for the Warzone Firefight expansion coming at the end of June to allow for “a bit more time for finishing touches and polish,” according to 343.
Halo 5’s Warzone mode’s bosses are being changed to be more “dynamic,” according to 343.
“One example: on Apex 7, at the two-minute mark, you could either have a Zealot Assassin Boss in the Caves, or a Ranger Commander and his squad dropped off at the beaches. Each Warzone match should be a bit different instead of the same encounters game after game.”
-Patrick Wren, 343 Industries multiplayer designer
Warzone Legendary bosses will also offer a “bigger payout” when you take them down, and the bosses themselves will have more of a “visual identity.”
