Sean Murray: Meeting other No Man’s Sky players possible
No Man’s Sky creator Sean Murray has tweeted about yesterday’s anticlimactic meeting of players, suggesting that there’s more to the space sim’s ability to handle two intersecting games than previously thought.
Murray hinted that the reason players were unable to see each other, and at seemingly different points in the planet’s day-night cycle, could be down to yesterday’s server issues – and under normal circumstances, there would be other indications of another player’s presence.
Murray: PS Neo will “fundamentally change” No Man’s Sky
According to Sean Murray, the PlayStation Neo will “fundamentally change the experience” of No Man’s Sky.
“If you play another game and if they do a remaster of that game [for the Neo], what they will do is up-res the textures and things like that. For our game it’s procedurally generated. So more powerful hardware doesn’t just mean upgraded textures or a higher framerate.
“With more powerful hardware, we can have more trees, more leafs on those trees. The density or immersion of worlds, or new types of worlds could exist. It’s a really fun thing to think about what impact more powerful hardware could have on our game and tech in the future.”

Players stranded by game-breaking No Man’s Sky bug
Players that pre-ordered No Man’s Sky have stumbled across a game-breaking bug that’s leaving them stranded in outer space.
The problem seems to be rooted in the bonus starship given to preorderers. While most players have to spend a few hours during the early stages of the game to build a hyperdrive that enables intergalactic travel, the pre-order ship boasts one from launch.
However, redeeming the pre-order ship makes players skip the tutorial that gives them the blueprint for building a hyperdrive. A few hours later, the snag hits if they trade their spacecraft for a more powerful model that doesn’t have a hyperdrive.
“The player ends up starting the game without the ability to build the essential item that allows you to get around and progress in the game. I’m stuck with a ship with no hyperdrive, with no way to make a hyperdrive. Essentially freezing my progress permanently until this bug is fixed, or I accept defeat and defeat my save with like a dozen hours on it, and start over. Whichever comes first.”

Three new Alolan-form Pokemon were also revealed: Electric/Psychic type Raichu, Dark type Meowth, and Fire/Ghost type Marowak.
New Pokemon include Grass/Fairy spore Pokemon Morelull, Water sea cucumber Pokemon Pyulimuku (who uses its insides as projectile weaponry), and fellow Water type Wishiwashi, which takes on a demon fish form when in danger.
