Nintendo is bringing Mario to mobile for the first time.
Shigeru Miyamoto, the company’s chief game designer, made the announcement at Apple’s press event Wednesday.
The game will have a fixed price when it launches in time for this holiday season. According to Nintendo, it’ll be available in 100 countries and nine languages.
In the game, Mario automatically runs to the right and jumps when you tap the screen. He’ll jump higher based on how long you tap. You collect coins and try to get to the flag pole before time runs out. The game is playable with one hand.
There’s also Toad Rally, a new battle mode where you try to beat someone else’s high score. Along with that, there’s a mode where you create your own Mushroom Kingdom based on your play results.
Miyamoto was the lead creator for the iOS game, with mobile game partner DeNA also working on it.
After Super Mario Run launches, Nintendo plans to deliver its previously announced Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem games before the end of March 2017.
