Pokemon Go is on its way to the Apple Watch, according to Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke.
According to Hanke, the game has been downloaded over 500 million times around the world since its launch. In that time, trainers have walked over 4.6 million kilometers (2.85 million miles).
The app is designed to further bring the game into traditional activities by enabling players to enjoy a more general walking experience without the constant distraction of looking down at your phone.
During a hunting session, users can see how far they traveled and their calorie burn, and see what Pokemon are nearby, and then are alerted when a Pokemon appears nearby. At a Pokestop, users also get a buzz on the wrist. They can also engage with Pokestops to collect items, and see when eggs hatch.
The app will launch before the end of the year.
