You can now claim your Nintendo Switch username
Prospective Nintendo Switch owners can now register a User ID for the console.
Inside the Nintendo Account ‘Account Settings’ page, there’s now a ‘User ID’ section. Hit the edit button and claim your chosen title. If you haven’t logged in for a little while, you may need to change your password before claiming a name.
Your Nintendo Account is separate from your Switch ID, but is intrinsically linked. Essentially, it takes the place of the NNID that you may have created for your Wii U or 3DS, and is completely separate.
John Cena to help advertise Nintendo Switch in U.S.
15-time WWE world champion John Cena has teamed up with Nintendo to help promote the Switch for one stop of a three-location U.S. tour.
Cena will be on hand during the first Switch pop-up event at Blue Cloud Movie Ranch, Calif. on Feb. 23 to show off 1, 2 Switch.
The second day of the road trip is set for Feb. 27 at the Snowmass ski resort in Aspen, Colorado, showing how the console can be played anywhere. As for the third day, that one will take place at New York’s Madison Square Park on launch day (Mar. 3) with Mario and Luigi on hand.
“The upcoming launch of the unique Nintendo Switch console calls for a unique series of celebrations. These unexpected locations perfectly highlight the features of the new system, as well as provide one-of-a-kind surprise-and-delight moments that Nintendo does best.”
-Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America senior vice president
